Standard Events

Payouts of standard events are based on the breakdown as stated in the official IPRA Rulebook.

A new payout structure has been put in place for the Bronc Riding, Team Roping, Tie-down, and Breakaway for the 2025 season. The breakdown is as follows:

 

Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Novice BB, Novice SB:

  • 6 or less contestants, pays 2 places; until first place exceeds $1,000, then 3 places paid
  • 7 – 11 contestants pays 3; until first place exceeds $1,000, then 4 places paid
  • 12 or more contestants pays 4; until first place exceeds $2,000, then 6 places paid

Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Tie-down Roping, Breakaway Roping:

  • 1 – 4 contestants, pays 1 place
  • 5 – 10 pays 2
  • 11 – 16 pays 3
  • 17 – 25 pays 4
  • 26 – 40 pays 5
  • 41 – 70 pays 6
  • 70+ pays 8

Barrel Racing, Bull Riding:

  • Less than $600 in the purse, pays 2 places
  • $600 – $999, pays 3
  • $1,000 – $1,999, pays 4
  • $2,000 – $4,999, pays 6
  • $5,000+ pays 8

Youth Events

Payouts of standard events will be based on the breakdown as stated in the official IPRA Rulebook.

Youth events consisting of:

  • Junior Barrel Racing (JBAR)
  • Junior Bull Riding (JBR)
  • Steer Riding (SR)
  • Calf Riding (CR)
  • Junior Pole Bending (JPB)

will be paid out as follows:

  • 5 or less contestants, pays 2 places
  • 6 – 10 pays 3
  • 11 – 20 pays 4
  • 21 – 40 pays 6
  • 40+ pays 8

Please note that individual rodeo circuits may keep points for participation in order to qualify for their finals. Please refer to those websites for standings.

 

Gymkhana Events

For convenience, sanctioned IPRA Canada rodeos having gymkhana events (pickup race, exchange race and pony express disciplines), are paid via the entry system used by the IPRA. Please refer to gymkhana sanction websites for standings.

 

Payout Structure

5 or less pays 2 (60%, 40%)

6-10 pays 3 (50%, 30%, 20%)

11-20 pays 4 (40%, 30%, 20%, 10%)

  • 21-40 pays 6 (29%, 24%, 19%, 14%, 9%, 5%)
  • 41-60 pays 8 (23%, 20%, 17%, 14%, 11%, 8%, 5%, 2%)
  • 61+ pays 10 (24%, 19%, 16%, 13%, 8%, 6%, 5%, 4%, 3%, 2%)
